Throw away kisses

You gotta watch out for those crazy fucking sharks that attack bears. They'll get you man.
What is it with Wine Cellar/Whammy and arm wrestling?

and throw away kisses?

I don't like to waste kisses in such a way. Personally.

arm wrestling & high tea

Bit of a weekend of opposites.

After seeing Stevie Starr play, Saturday night turned into a testosterone fueled arm wrestling competition at Wine Cellar.

Taking things very seriously as you can see.
and it gets better... smoking/drinking/flirting?/arm wrestling

It actually looks like Tom is trying in this shot. Perhaps that is why he won. He put in some real effort.

Things I learnt: Not only is Stevie very talented but is also very kind and lets me win at arm wrestling matches.

Then Sunday afternoon was all about the ladies at Bindi's High Tea for her birthday.

The little star made many delicious treats. Cupcakes/melting moments/baby lemon meringue pie/baby benoffe pie/club sandwiches/salmon & caper pikelets and scones.

AND long island iced tea out of tea pots.

AMAZING. Delicious. Great people ALL weekend.

This Saturday

Hey Auckland kids.

Come to this on Saturday night. It's my friend Stevie's gig.
He's pretty talented. Check out this video:

Some of my friends are also in this video. Mostly because I have really pretty friends and pretty people get put in music videos.

Come. Saturday.

Square Magnatism

I like the magnets. Especially the square ones at Amber's new pad.
Kept me entertained for quite some time.

WANT

How amazing are these?
I found them on Facehunter. They're amazing. I would like some.

I wonder if I could make them...

Dreamy Doors

"I drink so I can talk to arseholes. That includes me."

I totally relate to that quote. More so since I moved to Auckland - I find this place terribly cliquey within the industry. Anyway, I digress.

At any rate, last week a friend and I went to see 'When You're Strange', a documentary about The Doors or more importantly Jim Morrison.
The film, part of the film festival, was all old footage of the band and narrated by Johnny Depp. It was this quite beautiful haze of a young man who had this amazing spark and then died too young (see Forever 27 club).

I had forgotten just how much I love The Doors music. Just so very much. I found it quite interesting that in the beginnings the rest of the band were not fans of Jim's voice and wanted a different frontman.
You couldn't have The Doors without Jim though. There is something quite amazing in his eyes, and all genisus' are meant to be tortured souls aren't they?
I shall be hunting down his poetry books I think.

"Each generation wants new symbols, new people, new names. They want to divorce themselves from their predecessors."
- Jim Morrison
