rain rain go away

It was a rainy day this morning. In fact the first day since I moved to Auckland that I didn't walk to work.

This is the view from my window about 10.30 this morning:
And this was the view from my window about 4.30 this afternoon.
Sunshine even, but a little cold.

That is all. Photos taken on my HTC Magic with fx camera app. Have I mentioned how much I love that app? I LOVE that app.

Hit and Miss

So, I had a friend email me today and asked if I liked Auckland better than Wellington yet.

Well, no. I like Auckland a lot but there are so many things that I miss about Wellington.

I miss:
  • Sunday night dinner at my Dad's place
  • Fabulous friends
  • My darling Michael who would let me prattle on about advertising to him after a long day at work
  • Mighty Mighty
  • Castlepoint at Mighty Mighty
  • My lovely girls at Fidels (although I do LOVE my farewell singlet from them) and my morning coffee made by either Christie or Holly
  • Gigs at the Tug Boat
  • Satay Kingdom (#16)
  • The Botanical Gardens
  • Coffee made by Max or Enzo at Duke Carvell's
Mmm, espresso
  • Martin Bosley's Yacht Club
Riding my bicycle around the waterfront and plenty more.

I also can't wait until I can make a list like this about Auckland.

47 Diamantes

So 47 Diamantes came to the AK on their Let's Get Pregnant tour. They are super hot. Check them out here:

I hear that Gemma, the singer, may be back shortly with her other band Diana Rozz. Love seeing the Wellington kids up here.

drunk wordsmith

I like to think I am creative. Especially when I am drinking. (As it would turn out, I also tend to think I can sing, which apparently, I cannot.)

Anyway, was at a friends house last weekend and wrote a magnetic words poem. Found it on my phone today.

It's not a bad attempt:
It reads:
melancholy lady doth woe
but a raucous drunkard
must party through tempt.

I'll let you decide if I am the melancholy lady or raucous drunkard.

Dreamy Piha Afternoon

So, on Saturday I spent the most dreamy afternoon in Piha.

Having never been to Piha before, it was such a treat, so much fun and totally unplanned. Sun, paddling in the water, drinking beer, eating apples and cupcakes, climbing Lion Rock, watching surfers, soaking in the sunset and to top it off, amazing company.
Climbing past the 'not past this point' up Lion Rock. REBEL.

It's gotta be said, I'm super spoilt.
